Maclaren, the manufacturer of a popular child’s pushchair, have agreed to pay compensation to children who have sustained personal injury whilst in their pushchairs.
It has been reported that in excess of 40 children have suffered personal injury as a result of their fingertips becoming caught in the hinge of MacLarens collapsible pushchairs. Some parents have stated that their children lost their fingertips after they became caught in the pushchairs hinge.
Maclaren stated that they shall pay compensation to the children who have genuinely suffered personal injury although they shall not admit liability.
After hundreds of complaints to the BBC about the Maclaren pushchair customers of the pushchair in the UK were issued with a protective hinge.
