New laws have been passed at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg that will see air travel passengers receive compensation of up to 600 Euros (£541) if they are delayed by three hours or more.
The compensation is the same amount that is awarded to passengers if their flight was cancelled.
To avoid paying out the compensation, airlines will have to show that the delay was caused by “extraordinary circumstances”.
