This Saturday 5 September 2015 sees the first golden ticketed passenger journey on the Borders Railway to our office in Gala, and beyond!
Charlie Bucket’s luck was out this time; but those who did find a golden ticket inside special chocolate bars created by local chocolatier Cocoa Black will travel on special VIP trains on Saturday to celebrate return of the railway. Then, on Sunday 6 September 2015, the first ordinary paying passengers will be able to travel south into the beautiful Borders. And all this before Her Majesty the Queen officially opens the line on Wednesday 9 September 2015.
We’re very excited! Are you?
As well as opening up the region to even more tourists and day-trippers, the railway is sure to take commuter and business traffic off the roads. That’s certainly a good thing for all Borderers, as too many folk are killed and injured on Borders roads every year for too long now.
But, while the railway makes travel safer and easier, remember that you don’t need to travel any further than our office in Gala for a local injury compensation service that you can rely on. Trips north to Edinburgh can be reserved for sight-seeing or shopping, not to meet with your injury lawyers.
Our dedicated specialist team in our office at 84 Channel Street, Galashiels is right on your doorstep. And the new rail connection makes it even easier for us to connect with clients throughout the Borders.
So, next time you’re alighting the train in Gala, stay on track, and come and talk to Thompsons!
