Thompsons have welcomed news that a study is to be conducted by the Scottish Prison Service into the prevalence of inmates.

Similar studies in the United States have proved valuable learning tools into the prevention of future spread of the disease, as well as being a pathway to better care management solutions for those involved in the study.

The report is expected in September 2011.
