It has been reported that £650,000 was paid in compensation to teachers after compensation claims were made on their behalf in 2011. Personal Injury Solicitors brought Personal Injury Claims for the teachers in relation to illnesses brought on by stress, injuries caused by assaults by pupils, and injuries caused by a range of other accidents and incidents.

One Personal Injury Claim was raised against a school for their failure to manage a particularly heavy workload of a teacher. This lead to the teacher suffering a stress related psychiatric injury. The teacher involved was successful in her compensation claim and is reported to have been awarded a six-figure sum.
