The busy M8 westbound carriageway was closed on the 27th April 2010 due to a road traffic accident involving a Strathclyde Police Car.
The road traffic accident occurred when the police car was travelling with its blue flashing light on along the westbound carriageway. The two police officers in the car sustained minor personal injuries.
The other vehicle involved in the road traffic accident was a Volkswagen Polo, the driver of the Volkswagen Polo is reported to have suffered no personal injury as a result of the road traffic accident.
The exact circumstances of the road traffic accident are not yet known. Strathclyde Police are appealing for witnesses of the accident to contact them.
