About Alan

Alan is a Solicitor Advocate in our dedicated in house Advocacy Team. He is instructed by colleagues to represent clients at oral hearings, proofs, and to prepare the written pleadings in cases. He also regularly consults and provides advice in relation to the preparation of cases and on the potential compensation clients might receive in court. Prior to specialising in the advocacy work Alan was a Partner in our Accident Team where he handled a range of cases from pre-litigation to cases in the Specialist Personal Injury Court, Court of Session and in other Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. He has significant experience in handling a variety of case types including: road traffic accidents, workplace accidents, public liability, occupiers liability, and assault cases. Alan handled the majority of the complex, fatal, and catastrophic injury cases within the team and continues to be involved in these cases in his advocacy role. He prides himself in putting his clients first and ensuring they are comfortably navigated through the legal process whilst securing justice on their behalf.

He joined the firm as a trainee in 2013 and was promoted to Associate in 2018 and Partner in 2023 in recognition of his tenacity, legal knowledge, and ability to deliver excellent results for his clients. He is regularly referred cases from other solicitors throughout Scotland.

Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Alan attended the University of Edinburgh and obtained a 1st class LLB in Law and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. During his degree he studied abroad at the University of Copenhagen where he specialised in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution.
