Job Title
Associate
Head of the Thompsons office in Dundee
About Craig
Craig has worked in the field of personal injury litigation for more than 10 years. He enjoys helping people in need and relishes the face-to-face contact he has with clients. He wanted to do work that focused on 'people' and felt that the law was a perfect vocation for his talents.
Having gained his Diploma in Legal Practice in 2011, Craig started as a trainee with a large Scottish law firm where he worked his way up to Senior Solicitor.
On making the move to Thompsons in 2021, Craig says it was the firm's long history of only acting for workers and those injured in accidents that was a major factor in his decision. With family ties to the trade unions (his grandfather was a shop steward in a mill in Dundee), Craig says he was raised with a strong belief in the values that Thompsons also upholds.
As a proud Dundonian, Craig feels that Thompson's commitment to providing access to justice for clients in the Dundee/Tayside area is something he wishes to contribute to and help build.
Expertise
Craig pursues cases in the All Scotland Personal Injury Court, Local Sheriff Court and Court of Session. His areas of special interest include workplace accidents, road traffic accidents, general accidents involving occupier's liability, and public liability.
In his role in the Dundee office, Craig is chiefly involved in representing clients from Dundee and the surrounding areas so they can recover damages for injuries sustained as a result of accidents that were not their fault. He is dedicated to providing a top-class service that is available to all and delivering the maximum damages for his clients.
He hopes to grow the office in Dundee and to enable Thompsons to represent as many people as possible in the area in their claims for compensation and justice.
What Clients Say About Craig
Craig prides himself on being friendly, approachable, understanding and professional and his clients have said the following:
"From start to finish Thompsons have been exceptional. After being told by another personal injury law firm that my case wouldn’t stand, I was very apprehensive about getting a second opinion. After months off persuasion from my loved ones, and realising how bad my incident was, I reached out. Craig has been so understanding and passionate about my claim. He has guided me through the process perfectly. He has been persistent and fought my corner so well and I’ll be forever grateful for the outcome that he’s achieved. Even though mentally I’ve not fully recovered, I can now draw a line under this and move on. Because off Craig and the professionals who’ve seen me along the way I feel heard, seen and valued. Thank you."
"Craig Snee was in charge of my case and I must say he was a pleasure to deal with. Always honest with me and kept me updated all the way through. Thanks Craig”
“Our representative Craig Snee was great. Always on the end of the phone, kept us updated with the progress and was willing to give his opinion when it was needed."
"Mr Craig Snee represented me excellently. He kept me fully informed at all times and I received a great settlement. Mr Snee was also very personable, friendly and polite, whilst remaining highly professional."
“Was involved in a bad car accident last May involving a car transporter and consequently suffered a bad shoulder injury. All the way through Craig was very professional and very thorough. He managed to secure me a very healthy payout, far more than I expected. Great service, delighted with the results.”
Notable Cases
Craig has represented many clients who have suffered injuries in road traffic accidents. The outcome of the following case was particularly gratifying.
The client had suffered life-changing amputation injuries in a motorcycle accident. He was in intensive care for several weeks after the road traffic accident and had no recollection of the circumstances in which he was injured. The case required significant investigation in order to establish that fault could be attached to the defender.
Having arranged assessments in respect of his client's ongoing care and living situation, Craig also made sure the man received compensation sums for a specialised prosthetic leg which greatly assisted and improved his situation. This was crucial as his client was in an extremely challenging situation and without Craig's assistance he would have almost certainly suffered huge financial problems including the loss of the family home.
Craig says, "It was truly satisfying to be able to provide this level of service to a person who so desperately needed it."
Seeking Change
In the future, Craig would like to see higher compensation awards for pain and suffering as he considers the amounts that the courts award currently are simply too low. He believes a streamlined, faster court process would benefit his clients, so they can seek access to justice in a faster timeframe.
