About Lucy

Lucy has worked exclusively in employment law since 2018.

She first gained an interest in employment law when working for a boutique corporate firm in Aberdeen, which further developed when working for Castlemilk Law Centre following qualification.

Her experience has reinforced her awareness of the importance of employment law as an area of the law which cuts across society, impacting the lives of the wealthiest to the poorest in society. Lucy recognises the need for support for employees, who largely face a disadvantage in both resources and knowledge when embarking on raising tribunal claims.

Lucy recognises the importance that the workplace has in creating a happy, sustainable lifestyle for all and is highly motivated to assist employees in redressing the inherent power imbalance in workplaces.

Expertise

Disability discrimination is a particular area of interest for Lucy. She has successfully led cases where the disability is “hidden” and the employer’s responsibility towards their employee is less clear. Lucy is a keen advocate for those with mental health conditions whose conditions are often overlooked or misunderstood.

Qualifications

Diploma in Legal Practice – Glasgow Graduate School of Law
University of Aberdeen – LLB (hons)
