Since joining Thompsons in 1993, she has dealt exclusively with reparation claims for injured parties.

She is a longstanding member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and  has been accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in personal injury law for the last 10 years.

Wendy has been a Partner at Thompsons since 1998.

Expertise

Wendy has considerable experience of dealing with various types of workplace accident and non-work accident claims as well as disease claims including industrial deafness, industrial dermatitis, vibration injuries, stress at work, RSI and other process injury claims. She has experience in dealing with fatal accidents  and regularly makes  applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority and the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.

While she supervises an experienced team of lawyers based in the firm’s Glasgow office, Wendy also has a particular interest in training and supervising trainees as they start their legal careers.

Wendy is the firm’s Staff Partner and obtained a Certificate in Personnel Practice from the Department of Human Resources Management at the University of Strathclyde in 2003.

Below, Wendy talks about types of cases she handles and the various clients she acts for.  She gives advice for trade union members on how to go about seeking representation from their union alongside Thompsons if they have suffered an occupational illness or accident at work.
